Consumer protection organisation tells Qantas and Virgin that it is monitoring the airlines after the collapse of Bonza and Rex

The ACCC has fired a warning shot at Qantas and Virgin, saying it will keep a close eye on prices following the collapse of Bonza and the uncertain future of Rex. When Rex began flying between the capitals in 2021, prices on these routes fell by 25 percent.

Virgin Australia orders next-generation aircraft to replace its old Fokker 100 fleet

Virgin Australia has ordered eight new commercial aircraft to support the future growth of the airline’s regional and charter business in Western Australia. The Embraer E190-E2 aircraft will join Virgin Australia's fleet from October 2025 and will primarily operate charter flights for Virgin Australia Regional Airlines, ultimately replacing the decades-old Fokker 100 fleet.
