Whale becomes entangled in debris off Sugarloaf Rock in southwest Western Australia and is being monitored by game wardens

Wildlife authorities are monitoring an eight-metre-long humpback whale that has become badly entangled in fishing boats in the waters off the south-west coast of Western Australia. The whale was spotted off Shelley Cove at around 12.30pm by a Geographe Marine Research volunteer, prompting a rapid response from Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions officials.
