A Wheatbelt volunteer firefighter has received the highest personal award a bush fire volunteer can receive from the government for his unwavering courage and outstanding contribution to public safety. Robodebt law paves the way for a civil service investigation

In future, public officials will be able to investigate former department heads for misconduct during their term of office. On Wednesday, legislation was introduced in the Australian Parliament giving the Australian Public Service Commissioner the power to investigate former heads of agencies for breaches of the Public Service Code of Conduct.
