A Wheatbelt volunteer firefighter has received the highest personal award a bush fire volunteer can receive from the government for his unwavering courage and outstanding contribution to public safety. Anthony “Morty” Mort, Captain of the Cuballing/Popanyinning Bush Fire Brigade, received the Murray Lang Bush Fire Service Award at the Crown Perth on 7 September.
