Social Democrats keep right-wing extremists in Germany at a distance
Chancellor Olaf Scholz's Social Democrats have won an election in the eastern German state of Brandenburg, giving them a narrow lead over a fast-growing right-wing extremist party. The vote took place three weeks after the extreme right made gains in two other eastern German states.
