A new era for the New Zealand Breakers could not have started more encouragingly, although they had to overcome a final scare to beat the Brisbane Bullets 91-87 at HoopsFest in Perth.
The Breakers, with a decidedly re-formed team, put up a dominant performance and took a lead of as many as 26 points, and by the middle of the final quarter the lead was still at 23 points.
