A long-term analysis of 24,000 employees has shown that the right not to have to be on call 24 hours a day increases productivity and employee retention, a study shows.

New federal “right to disconnect” laws come into effect on August 26, meaning employees are legally protected from being forced to answer non-urgent calls or respond to emails outside of business hours.
