Englishman Matt Baldwin, who has worked as a delivery driver to finance his golf dream, has opened up a two-shot lead at the halfway point of the European Tour's most important PGA tournament after a record-breaking performance at Wentworth.
Baldwin, a former foursome partner of Ryder Cup star Tommy Fleetwood, is in pole position to win the Stg1.15 million (A$2.25 million) first prize after adding a 66 to his opening 65 on Friday for a halftime score of 13 under par, equalling the tournament record set by Paul McGinley in 2008.
